Weekly Shop Rides

Friday & Saturday Social Rides

We run weekly shop rides from Flamme Rouge to suit riders of different abilities. These are great social rides where you ge to meet other cyclists in the group, enjoy the scenery of Bedfordshire and finish off with a delicious coffee and cake at the end. One of our shop team usually joins each group. Rides are suitable for road bikes

Timings:

Rides leave at 10am from the shop, usually for 2 hours.

Speed & distance:

We usually run 2 groups on each day.

The faster Espresso group will ride at 16-18mph covering 32-36 miles.

The steadier Cappuccino group will ride at 13-15mph covering 25-30 miles.

Group etiquette:

The group rides together and stays together. We aim for no-one to get dropped during the ride. If there is a split on a hill then we expect people to regroup at the top.

We ride 2 breast side by side with groups of no more than 16 riders. This is to allow safe passing for motorists. We ask that  riders are respectful of other road users and each other.

Please bring spares in case of punctures.

If its wet please ensure your bike has mudguards for the comfort of the other riders.

Routes:

Usually decided on the day, dependant on weather conditions such as wind direction and the ability of those riding

Wednesday Training Rides
